I’m sincerely thankful and touched by all who have been coming and filling up ‘The Corner’ these past couple of weeks. We’ve had our loyal regular customers, industry folk, South Asians excited by the traditional homestyle options and of course new faces from the Mission.
This week I was torn between my options for Wednesday. Street Food? A different regional cuisine? Indian-Chinese?
I ended up deciding on a new Vegan Night menu, as we had such a strong turnout two weeks ago and vegetarian cuisine is my passion!
$20 Prix Fixe Vegan Menu
Appetizer
- Aloo Tikki and Channa — fried potato patties with garbanzo beans, drizzled with tamarind sauce
Mains
- Sindhi Tomato Kadi — ginger tomato broth with green beans and okra
- Bund Gobi Aloo — braised red and green cabbage with potatoes
- Cardamom Basmati Rice
- Fresh Wholewheat Phulkas — light, wholewheat bread cooked on a tawa
Dessert
- Ginger Pineapple Salad — chilled pineapple with fresh ginger and chili flakes
Accompaniments
- Cucumber / Red Onion Kachumbar – fresh cucumbers and red onions
- Papad — lentil chips with crushed black pepper
- Chilli Chutney — Kasa’s famous Hot Sauce
- Achaar — spicy pickled vegetables
