Donating 10% of Proceeds on Dec 1 to Paint the Castro Red

I am insanely passionate about my personal mission (and Kasa’s) to introduce my larger community to Delicious Indian Food from Scratch.  I’m coming to realize that I may be driven by this passion for my entire life, whether I like it or not.  I envision myself introducing people to the wonders of Gobi Aloo and Saag Paneer for eons.

Thank goodness there are noble people tackling MUCH more important issues, and we at Kasa want to highlight and support them.
December 1st is World AIDS day and 16 dedicated organizations are going to ‘Paint the Castro Red’ to raise awareness about this 30 year old global epidemic.
Their goal is to to educate about the need to protect ourselves and continually get tested, to help those who have been affected, to remember those we have lost and also to highlight the advancements that have been made in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS.
We are VERY proud to support their efforts and will donate 10% of our proceeds on December 1 to this cause. Many of our fellow Castro business owners are also participating.
So please come to the Castro — which will be adorned with red lights, red ribbons and red balloons — and shop, drink and eat delicious Indian food from scratch at Kasa and participating merchants tomorrow.  There will also be free HIV testing and a candlelight vigil at 6:30pm in Harvey Milk Plaza. Here’s the Facebook event link.
We look forward to seeing you and are yet again proud to be a part of the Castro Community.
Anamika

A Farewell (for now) from Roti Josh

(Note: Guest post from one of the coolest Kasa staffers we’ve ever had. He’s currently on the Appalachian Trail for the next three months, craving Indian food no doubt.  We hope to have him back in our midst when he’s done.)
I always thought the best thing about Kasa was the people behind the food.  From the get go, Tim was the most upfront, sincere, willing person I ever got to work for.  He opened so many doors for me when I arrived in my new city.  I have more gratitude for you than the ball in the end of this stick can roll out.
Now, we all know about Anamika’s dynamite recipes.  But if you get a chance to spend any time with her, consider yourself blessed.  Food is far from her only strong point.  She is a delight to be around, eating or not.
Suresh has a way of making you smile on your worst of days.
Just a perfect trio.
The guys in the back could wear out an army of ants and make it look easy!
Then there is Polly.  Oh my……..Polly.  I will miss you the most, simply because you drive me the craziest.  I love you!
Kalyan works harder than two of me combined.
I feel good leaving with the knowledge that the new crew is just as fun as the last one.
And with a persistence as strong as time, you will be steady on my mind.
Thank you San Francisco.
Thank you Castro.
Thank you Kasa.
Your friend,
Roti Josh
